These are just amazing pieces - some more fashionable than others, all totally practical, and all on sale! They have a few briefcases marked down to around $100 from around $300 (I wish I had a use for a briefcase because I love the yellow one ($96)!) and even some items from the Alexander McQueen for Samsonite line!  I love this Croc Spinner on sale for $335 from $900. Travelers... this sale is for you!

They have a wide variety of casual tops from tanks to tees to long sleeves available at very reasonable prices. I like the above Emma Dress, available in many other colors, on sale for $28 from $128. What a great deal!

Diva of the Day

Denim icon Katie Holmes wore PRPS jeans while promoting the movie Valyrie in London with her husband, Tom Cruise. I love how classic and preppy the rest of her outfit is in contrast to the destroyed denim - silk scarf in the hair, a great fitting blazer, big leather bag, and glam sunglasses to top it all off. I love the whole outfit!

Today, the Deal of the Day is also my favorite Denim of the day. I absolutely love these black destroyed Envy Straight Leg Jeans by Goldsign, available at ShopBop.com. The abrasions are just perfect! You can see through them, but not too much. I would love to wear them with some bright blue, purple, or even yellow tights under them in the winter! In the summer, all you need are some cute flip flops, a casual grey tank, and your favorite piece of jewelry and you are good to go!

Today at noon, Gilt Groupe opened its private sales for Cynthia Steffe and Miriam Salat. The Cynthia Steffe collection has some beautiful dresses, as well as very cute separates.  Everything is about 70% off retail prices. This beautiful Metallic Brocade Cady Coat is on sale for only $118, down from $448!

The Miriam Salat sale features upscale costume jewelry. This one is a little more expensive (prices range from $54 to $165) but the pieces really are beautiful and high quality. Your Opinion On.... Fringe Boots

So what do you think about fringe boots?

Short, tall, mid length... Black, brown, grey, purple... What do you think?

I think fringe boots are really hit or miss. At first, I thought I only liked short black ones, like Minnetonka's Shell Fringe Bootie in Black (available at UrbanOutfitters.com). But I recently saw a tall tan pair online that I just love! Its the Sam Edelman Medium Fringe Boot in Camel. I think they would be fun to wear all summer long with a tan and denim shorts! I really like the rustic look of them, and I think the tan color would look nice on summer legs. I found them online at Piperlime.com.

Basically, I am in-between on the fringe boot issue. I love 'em and hate 'em on the individual level, but on the whole, I think I do like the trend!

Diva of the Day

One of my favorite style icons has always been Kate Moss. I love her effortlessly sexy rocker chick look. She wears pieces in timeless and neutral colors, especially black, but never looks boring. There is a grunge-y side to her look, but she is still glamorous. Kate is innovative and creative, and therefore is a huge trend setter. If you ever want to know what will be all the rage in about half a year, take a look at what Moss is wearing now. She is always ahead of the curve!

Lately, I have seen Kate Moss in a lot of destroyed denim (she really likes Balmain denim - I wish I could afford a pair!) and knee high boots, as pictured above. What do you think about the boots? I would like a flat pair in black, or maybe charcoal, suede. A heel any higher than Kate's might begin to look trashy, but I think she looks amazing!

Denim of the Day

Right now, I really want a pair of dark destroyed denim jeans with white thread exposed at the rips and abrasions. I don't really know why, but I have always loved destroyed denim! It is so casual and effortlessly sexy. Whether worn dressed down with a t shirt or maybe a boy tank and cardigan, or dressed up with a silk camisole or a structured button up and vest combo, destroyed denim can take you anywhere! Day or night, class or party, matinee movie or dinner date, its up to how you wear it, and thats what I love!

Right now is a great time to buy shorts, because many retailers just did their year end inventories and found leftovers from last summer. These shorts were over 80% off!!!

I plan on wearing these shorts all year round with my Jeffrey Campbell Evade cutout oxford pumps in grey and black. I bought mine at a shoe store on Kings Street in downtown Charleston that unfortunately lost its lease. Mine were on sale for $80, but you can get them at Lorisshoes.com for only $52! I might even wear my black velvet C'N'C' by Costume National belt (only $30 at TJMaxx) depending on the outfit.

Top it all off with a black tank and a colorful cardigan (or a bright satiny blouse in the summer) and you're good to go!
